A Sweet Rear Projection TV Repair Tip for a Panasonic PT-47WX34J

Here's a time saving Rear Projection TV Repair tip for a Panasonic PT-47WX34J, 47 inch TV set. The set had come in for having "color problems".

I tested the set, and noticed that the color convergence was off. Most noticeably in the RED.

I noticed that I could not adjust the RED in the convergence adjust menu.

After unplugging the ac cord, I then disassembled the set to get access to the chassis. The IC that controls the red, is IC 7001. It's location is shown in the picture below.

The generic part number for IC 7001 is STK392-110. Getting to it is not that difficult, and it is fairly easy to replace.

After replacing the defective part, I went to the menu under "Video".

Then in the "convergence", I did a "Reset". The set was fine again.
